Admission Criteria

To apply for admission, you are required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate. A GPA of 2.0 or higher is recommended. But, we know every student has a story. If you don’t meet this GPA recommendation—but believe UJ’s online program is right for you—you should still apply. Share your background, your plans for the future, and what makes you unique. And we’ll go from there!

Applications will be reviewed based on transcripts, chosen program of study, and a brief essay outlining your plans for success in college.

Apply in 3 Easy Steps

  1. Complete an online application.

It’s free, and you can stop and re-start at any time!

2. Submit your high school transcript or GED certificate.
Once you complete your online application, submit your transcripts one of the following ways:

College of Graduate and Professional Studies Admissions

Fargo, ND 58104

3. Stay in touch!

We’ll text, email, or call if we’re missing any information.

Deadlines and Response Time

Apply early! University of Jamestown operates on a rolling admissions policy, meaning we don’t have a hard deadline for applications. Instead, we evaluate applications as we receive them. We continue until we’ve filled all of the open slots for our incoming class.

An admission decision will be made within a week of receiving your completed application and transcripts.

Unmatched support

From day one, each student gets a faculty advisor. Someone who’s available to help you register for classes and secure a job after graduation—as well as everything in between. Plus, you get virtual access to the same support services offered on our campus

Dedicated Faculty

Our faculty come from different walks of life and study. Some are working professionals who excel in their fields, others are PhDs who have dedicated their careers to academia. That means you’ll get a more well-rounded education that focuses both on theory and practice.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to attend a private, liberal arts university. That’s why we offer a yearly minimum of $8,000 in institutional aid along with other financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
