Whatever your reasons are for transferring, we’re here to help make your transition to University of Jamestown easy. Once you apply, you will be assigned a dedicated Transfer Specialist who can help with your application, transferring credits, reviewing financial aid and housing, and getting you involved in campus—all to make sure UJ is the right fit for you.

We try to make applying to UJ as easy as possible. Here’s how:

  • Applying is FREE.
  • The application should take no more than 15 minutes.
  • You don’t need official transcripts or ACT/SAT test scores to apply.

Admission Criteria

We want you to succeed at UJ. To help make sure that’s possible, we have a few admission requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0, based on a 4.0 scale
  • Good standing with the institution from which you are transferring
  • 12 semester or 32 quarter credit hours completed. Students who do not have the required transfer credits completed may be required to submit additional information during the acceptance process.

Applications will be reviewed based on transcripts and chosen program of study.

Deadlines and Response Time

Your application and credentials must be completed 60 days prior to the beginning of a term.

An admission decision will be made within a week of receiving your completed application and transcripts. From there, we will determine your scholarship offer. Your Transfer Specialist will be in touch with you throughout this process and is happy to answer any questions.

General Education

No matter which major you choose, you’ll have required Think of these courses as a solid foundation for your college education, as well as your future. You’ll get to explore different areas of study, expand your mind, and learn to think differently. All while gaining skills that are critical to success in your future profession.

A day in the life

Our campus is always buzzing. Most students participate in multiple activities and have at least one major, complemented by a minor or concentration. Explore different programs and activities to get a better feeling of what it means to be a Jimmie.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to attend a private, liberal arts university. That’s why we offer a yearly minimum of $8,000 in institutional aid to full-time undergraduate students who reside on campus, along with other financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
