Faculty
The University of Jamestown School of Nursing is seeking to hire an open rank faculty position for the BSN program. Course assignments vary according to program needs and faculty’s area of expertise. The position is on a full-time, 9-month contract and requires a physical presence. This is not a remote position. This position will begin August 2025.
Minimum Requirements: Faculty must have a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited institution. If a master’s degree is in a discipline other than nursing, the faculty member must submit evidence of acceptable graduate level coursework in nursing, which includes learning principles for adult education, nursing curriculum development, administration, and evaluation. A minimum of five years’ experience in nursing and a current unencumbered nursing license in the state of North Dakota, or the ability to obtain licensure is required.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Preference given to applicants with current experience in mental health &/or maternal/child health &/or teaching experience at the college/university level.
+ ACLS/PALS certification, or willingness to obtain, is a plus.
Responsibilities: Didactic teaching for on-campus undergraduate nursing courses, lab instruction, and leading clinical experiences in the community setting is required.
As directed by the NDBON, program faculty must:
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and update the program and curriculum using a written plan;
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and update policies for student admission, progression, retention, and graduation in keeping with the policies of the sponsor institution;
- Participate in academic advisement and guidance of students;
- Provide theoretical instruction and practice experiences;
- Select, monitor, and evaluate preceptors and the student learning experience as defined in section 54-03.2-04-07;
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice;
- Evaluate student learning outcomes and participate in the evaluation of program outcomes; and
- Participate in activities that facilitate maintaining the faculty members’ own nursing competence and professional expertise in the area of teaching responsibility.
Faculty members are also expected to participate in program committees and campus wide committees.

The University of Jamestown’s PhD in Clinical Research Program invites applications for a full-time core faculty member to join our growing interdisciplinary team. This online, asynchronous doctoral program serves adult learners who already hold advanced clinical or research degrees (e.g., MD, PharmD, DNP, MPH, MS), and who are committed to advancing knowledge and practice in clinical research.
We seek a faculty colleague who brings hands-on experience in clinical research, a record of scholarship, and a passion for mentoring adult learners in a virtual environment. The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Jamestown is seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant to support departmental operations, faculty, and students. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with student activities to include:
- SET staffing, budget, events, etc.

- Hire, facilitate and train orientation leaders, interns, and counselors.
- Assist with Community Block Party.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of college staff, faculty, and students.
- Proficient with smart technology, computers, multimedia and modern education technology.
- Learning theory and student characteristics for leadership development.
- Principles and practices of event and risk management, principles of student discipline, legal aspects of higher education, team development strategies.

Graduate Assistant
University of Jamestown is seeking applicants for the position of Women’s Soccer graduate assistant (GA) for a 2-year period, beginning August 1, 2023. Qualified applicants will assist in fostering a highly competitive and positive team culture where high-quality relationships with fellow coaches and student-athletes are emphasized. The GA will collaborate with the head coach to prepare practice plans and directly assist with strategic and personnel decisions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Recruiting student-athletes, on and off field skill instruction, goalkeeper training, office duties, assist with daily practice plans, and other administration/operational duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Coaching experience is desired with the purpose of coaching as a career
- Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to get a CDL.
- Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into the University of Jamestown Graduate programs.

- Maintain Lyngstad and Badal Nafus Student Center bulletin boards ensuring posters are appropriate and current.
- Hold a minimum of 10 regularly scheduled office hours per week.

Position Tracks:
This assistantship offers two tracks for a graduate student to choose from: the Administrative Track or the Teaching Track. Each track provides specialized experience, preparing graduate students for specific professional roles within academia or administration. There is only one graduate position opening, so the candidate’s interest, skill set, and how the tracks will best impact the candidate’s studies will determine the selection and which track is utilized. Both tracks address pressing needs in the department, so indicate what track is of interest and how it will benefit your academic studies in your application.
Administrative Track Responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant in the Administrative Track will support the daily operations within the Department of Computing, Design, and Communication, collaborating with university leadership on administrative and organizational initiatives. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with data collection and report preparation for department activities.
- Maintaining accurate departmental records and documentation.
- Assist in coordinating events, meetings, and special projects.
- Assisting program coordinators with scheduling and communication within the department.
- Working with adjunct faculty to help onboard, facilitate communication, and provide support as needed.
- Assisting with clerical duties as needed.
Teaching Track Responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant in the Teaching Track will work closely with faculty members to support instructional efforts, course planning, and student engagement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in course preparation and content organization.
- Grading assignments, tests, and providing student feedback under faculty supervision.
- Supporting faculty in managing course materials and activities.
- Helping to coordinate office hours and student queries.
- Helping to coordinate undergraduate student advising within the department.
- Assisting with the design of assessment tools and learning materials.
- Instruction of an entry-level course working with a full-time faculty member.
