HIGHER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY ACT

The Higher Education Opportunity Act, or HEOA, requires colleges and universities to disclose certain information.

THE CLERY ACT

In addition to the HEOA, the Clery Act requires information to be disclosed referencing campus security, fire annual report, hate crimes, the missing student notification procedure, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, and annual reported crime. EQUITY IN ATHLETICS DISCLOSURE ACT

Any coeducational institution of higher education that participates in a Federal Student Aid program and has an intercollegiate athletic program must prepare an annual Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report. The report contains participation rates, financial support, and other information on men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic programs. The University of Jamestown will provide a paper copy of this report upon request. For a paper copy, please contact the University of Jamestown Office of Financial Aid.

University of Jamestown (UJ) is committed to respecting the privacy of all those who visit uj.edu to the extent permitted by law and UJ policy. This online privacy statement is intended to inform you what information is collected by this website and how the information is used.

UJ monitors network traffic to identify and prevent unauthorized access data.

UJ collects and analyzes aggregate data about visitor traffic to determine trends and improve the website. The data collected may include, but is not limited to:

  • Entrance and exit pages, and referrals

This is a standard practice for websites, and it is used to evaluate how to design the website to best serve customer needs. In some cases, a third party may have been authorized to collect some of this same information and provide reporting for marketing purposes. This data is kept indefinitely.

UJ has implemented physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, ultimately to assist in maintaining data security and ensure appropriate use of the information we collect online.

UJ does not collect personal information such as name or address unless you voluntarily provide it by sending email, participating in a survey or completing an online form. UJ does not sell personal information or release any personally identifiable information, unless required by law.

UJ partners with a third party for aid in web hosting and management. They are authorized to access information only as it pertains to necessary technical support.

UJ uses Google Analytics, a website traffic tracking and reporting service, and Google Custom Search, a tool designed to assist with searching for and finding information on the website. These services help UJ better understand and improve the website’s performance and user experience. UJ adheres to Google’s usage guidelines for this service, which prohibits the collection or association of personal information with Web analytics or site searches.
