Combine creativity, technology, and strategy to design for print, digital media, and the web. At the University of Jamestown, you’ll explore how typography, imagery, color, layout, and motion work together to communicate ideas and connect with audiences.
Through project-based coursework, you’ll develop skills in digital graphics, publication design, photography, video, animation, and web development. You’ll work with Adobe creative software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and more, while building the design principles and creative judgment that guide effective work across different tools.
You’ll also explore the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the creative process, from generating and developing ideas to experimenting with visual directions and refining concepts. The course emphasizes evaluating AI-generated content, considering originality and authorship, and making intentional design decisions.
Communication and marketing courses will help you understand your audience and connect creative choices with purpose. As you progress, you’ll refine your work and develop a digital portfolio that demonstrates your skills and creative thinking.
