As part of University of Jamestown’s Journey to Success, we believe students grow through looking beyond.

One way our students can do this is by participating in a study abroad program. We offer our students several exciting opportunities for study abroad with our partners ISEP and Irish American Scholars.

Exchange Programs

University of Jamestown is an ISEP member. ISEP is a nonprofit membership organization of over 300 partner institutions worldwide. ISEP has provided affordable study abroad and exchange experiences to over 37,000 students since 1979.

There are opportunities to study in English at 96 universities in 40 countries.

Additional opportunities include study in the host language at 87 universities in 22 countries. Languages currently available are Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

There are courses available in all fields of study. ISEP partners with over 150 international universities in 49 countries in Asia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, Middle East & North Africa, Oceania & Sub-Saharan Africa.

ISEP applicants must:

  • be enrolled and in good academic standing
  • have completed at least one year of university coursework before departure
  • have a minimum GPA of 2.75 (3.0 for some sites)

Study Abroad Factsheet


Study in Italy

Students have the opportunity to study in Italy for two weeks.

Students who enroll will take 1 credit hour of conversational Italian before going (an eight-week course that starts after Spring Break), and the group will leave after school is out in May.

While in Italy, students will take classes on Italian language and culture, religion, and business/entrepreneurship and will take trips to some of the major cities in Italy.

Irish American Scholars

Colleges and Universities that participate in the Study USA may send up to three students each year to study in Northern Ireland through the Irish American Scholars program.

Students may apply to study at the following schools:

  • Belfast Metropolitan College
  • Queens University
  • St. Mary’s University College
  • Stranmllis University College
  • University of Ulster


Applicants must be a current sophomore or junior and must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Students must be nominated. Contact Experiential Education for more information.

Enrollment in a program of study abroad approved for credit by the University of Jamestown may be considered enrollment for purposes of applying for federal student financial aid.
