Frank Clemens

Frank Clemens retired from working as a mason for North Dakota State Hospital in 2011. After retiring, painting became a release for him.

He was quoted in the Jamestown Sun saying, “Painting helps. It gets me into something. It helps me when I get down. I start painting and forget about it.”

The first time Clemens took an art class was when he was a student at UJ. He enrolled because a friend asked him to. He liked it so much, he took several art and painting classes as independent study.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History/Political Science from UJ in 1975
