Bruce Furness

University of Jamestown graduate Bruce Furness (’61) is one of nine nominated for the 2016 Senior of the Year award.

This award recognizes individuals age 65+ who have made an outstanding contribution to enrich the social, cultural or civic life of the Fargo-Moorhead area. Categories for the awards include business person, community involvement, education/arts, faith and healthcare/wellness.

The Senior of the Year awards dinner will be Sept. 22 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fargo with a social at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner and program at 6:30.

Furness is a North Dakota native, from Bismarck. He graduated from University of Jamestown in 1961, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
