Meet Peyton Johnson – Giving Hearts Day
Why did you choose UJ?
I chose UJ because the professors and coaches were very supportive of me pursuing both mechanical engineering and athletics, which was hard for me to find at other schools. I also felt that UJ offered many opportunities for students that wouldn’t be offered elsewhere.
What are you involved with on campus and why?
On campus I am involved in golf, welcome weekend, and also student senate. I chose these activities because they allow me to meet different people on campus as well as expand on my personal skills and development.
Is there a particular person or event that stands out from your time at UJ?
Welcome Weekend will always be a memory that I will remember from my time at UJ. From being a freshman meeting and connecting with everyone in a new environment, to being a group leader helping first years find their place on campus. The weekend is always a highlight of my year, and I always get great relationships and memories out of it.
How have you been impacted by scholarship support?
The contributions have eased financial burdens, which have allowed me to fully focus on my academics and staying involved in my extracurricular activities. THANK YOU for investing in UJ students. I’m grateful for the generosity of those who make these opportunities possible.
