Giving Hearts Day

Why did you choose UJ?
I originally came to UJ to play soccer! I loved that the school was so small and was close enough to go home for weekend trips.

What are you involved with on campus and why?
Soccer, Choir, Student Senate, SET, Residence Life, Strength and Conditioning, Campus Ministries, Welcome Weekend and Alpha Chi Honors Society. I love being involved and getting to meet so many people on campus. I’ve met all of my best friends through my various involvement and have truly been able to make the most of my college experience.

Why should someone choose UJ to donate to for Giving Hearts Day?
One of my favorite memories occurred during the (second) caf fire. A group of friends and myself were sitting outside, long after everyone else had left, watching the firemen work to keep us all safe. We sat in a circle, praying, thanking God for his provision in keeping everyone safe and sending firemen so fast. Despite the circumstances, we felt the love and care of God in the moment. This memory reminds me of the family I have found at UJ and how blessed I have been to have a school that puts faith at the forefront of its culture.

How have you been impacted by scholarship support?
Is there a particular person or event that stands out from your time at UJ? UJ has been fundamental in my growth and the growth of so many others I know. It has been a place where we have experienced love, loss, difficulties, and joy together. It’s a place that cares about its students and prioritizes who they are as people above all else. Donating to UJ is investing in the betterment of its students, both as an intellectual and as a member of society. Attending UJ is a commitment to leaving the University a better person than when you arrived.
