Michael is an instructor of business, economics, and finance. In addition to teaching, he operates a small firm specializing in strategic management and innovation-related investments. His mission is to support economic growth, innovation, and financial opportunity in the era of artificial intelligence.

His career spans a broad range of roles and industries, including management, investing, finance, technology, destination marketing, U.S. international aviation policy, and U.S. government management and budget, including a Presidential Management Fellowship in Washington, D.C. Originally from New York State, he graduated from college in California. Subsequently, he came to North Dakota via Colorado, where he completed graduate business school and taught economics and finance at a Jesuit university in Denver. Fun fact: He served overseas in the U.S. Peace Corps in northern Thailand, where he learned Thai and some northern Thai dialect.

Michael is a member of the National Association of Business Economics. He is passionate about travel, the great outdoors, wildlife conservation, and athletics. If you are a UJ student, consider inviting him to attend your games. Go Jimmies!
