JAMESTOWN, N.D.: On Friday, October 6, four individuals and two teams will be inducted into the University of Jamestown Athletic Hall of Fame. The banquet will be held at 11 a.m. in the Harold Newman Arena during UJ’s Homecoming festivities.

Inductees include track and field alumnus Shea Gaier (’99) and football alumni Dustin Erbes (’11), Eric Dirk (’08) and Kevin Heyer (’77). The two Hall of Fame teams include 2005 women’s soccer and 1972 men’s track and field.

“The Jimmie Athletic Hall of Fame is a decades old tradition,” said Tara Kapp, Director of Development for the Jimmie Booster Club and Annual Giving. “Over the years, we’ve added the Rollie Greeno and Jim Clark awards and now have the trifecta of ways to honor those athletes, teams, coaches and alumni who embody what it truly means to be a Jimmie.”

This year’s Rollie Greeno Award recipient, which honors individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to youth through their careers in the education and/or coaching professions, is Michael Kuhn (’79).

The Jim Clark Award honoree is Brent Lemer (’10). This recognition honors individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to serving others through their career since leaving the University of Jamestown.

“The University of Jamestown has a storied history of athletic success, and these individuals played a big role in that history,” said Austin Hieb, UJ’s Athletic Director. “Being inducted into the University of Jamestown Athletic Hall of Fame is a big honor, and these inductees are very deserving. I can’t thank them enough for their contributions to the University of Jamestown.”

The public is invited to attend the Athletic Hall of Fall Banquet. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at uj.edu/homecoming. For more information about nominees or the UJ Athletic Hall of Fame banquet, contact Tara Kapp at 701-252-3467 ext. 5024 or Tara.Kapp@uj.edu
