Biography

Dr. Holmes has been a Physical Therapist since 1984. He received his degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He received a Master of Science with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from Purdue University, and a Doctorate in Education from The University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

His practice has primarily been orthopedics and sports physical therapy. He is also an athletic trainer and practiced at Purdue University and Louisiana State University as a member of those athletic departments. He has also practiced in outpatient orthopedics, for the Department of Orthopedics at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, The University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, and The University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth.

Dr. Holmes has been teaching in higher education since 1986 and has been a full faculty member in physical therapy education since 1991. He has taught at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, The University of Central Arkansas, Chaired the Department of Physical Therapy at The University of Toledo, and was Founding Chair of The Department of Physical Therapy at The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as Founding Dean of the School of Physical Therapy at Arkansas Colleges for Health Education.

Dr. Holmes has been author or co-author of multiple peer reviewed publications, and book chapters. He has over 100 regional, national, and international presentations. He has been a full professor at three institutions and has served as a graduate faculty member at multiple universities. He has chaired and/or served as a member of multiple masters and doctoral committees. He is currently serving as Professor at The University of Jamestown Program in Physical Therapy.
