SIR JIMMIE BLOG
My four-year home – Bryn Woodside

The University of Jamestown has been my home for the last four years. As I am approaching the end of my college career, I have been smiling as I reflect on all of the wonderful memories and the people I have met that made my time here so special.

Nursing at UJ

UJ has given me an outstanding education. I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The nursing professors have all been inspirations to me. Not only have they provided knowledge, but also support and inspiration for my future profession.

Some of my favorite memories at UJ come from the hours I spent in the simulation lab with my classmates preparing for our skills re-demonstration tests. The nursing program is special, and I will be proud to tell my future co-workers about the program I went through.

Jimmie Basketball

My favorite part about being a Jimmie was the fact that I was able to participate in a collegiate sport. The Women’s Basketball program, thanks to Coach Ulland and my teammates, quickly became my second family.

As a team, we spent many hours together on and off the court. Every year, we would have a tournament right around Thanksgiving, and we were not able to go back to our hometowns. Instead, we would have team Thanksgiving at the Ulland’s. Those four thanksgivings will always be some of my favorites.

Being able to spend all of my summers in the Hansen Center is another one of my favorite memories. It would be 8 in the morning and about 85 degrees in the Hansen, but my teammates and I would still show up, do our workouts, and leave looking like we just jumped in the pool. Although I spent three years in the Hansen, it was a treat the finish my career in the Harold Newman Arena.

Thank you!

I will forever be grateful for the fans, supporters, my teammates, coaches, professors, and for everyone who helped make the University of Jamestown my home for four years. Thank you.
