Lori Listopad, Director of Retention & Learning and the Academic Advising Center, gave birth to Casper, on May 23 at Essentia Health-Fargo. Casper was 11 weeks before his due date.

“Casper was born healthy and everything that could be wrong is completely normal and there is nothing extra to worry about,” said Steve Listopad, Casper’s father.

Dr. Scott Mutchler, Casper’s pediatric physician said that Casper should live a normal life expectancy with normal growth development.

“The OB (obstetrics) staff there(Essentia) is amazing, top notch,” Lori said.

“The whole thing from beginning to end has been a miracle,” Steve said.

Lori said she will return to work as director of retention and learning at the University of Jamestown on Oct. 1. She also plans to complete a hybrid juris doctorate in legal education and take the bar examination within a year.

Steve has accepted a position as media adviser and lecturer at Henderson University in Arkansas. He is also completing a doctoral degree in communications at North Dakota State University.
