Jimmie Way of Life – Jocelyn Meidinger

As soon as you commit to the University of Jamestown, you are told you are a Jimmie and will learn the Jimmie way of life.

What does that mean?

To be a Jimmie and lead life in the Jimmie way is to grow not only as a student, but also as a person. We are encouraged to push ourselves and be the best we can in and out of the classroom.

Professors care for their students and push them to new levels of thinking – encouraging them to apply that knowledge in both life and career. The staff on campus cheers us on as we grow to be better persons in knowledge and character. Coaches, directors and leaders commit themselves to mentoring those in their programs, clubs and organizations.

As Jimmies, we are held to a higher standard. The Jimmie standard of supporting each other, lifting each other up, pushing each other to do our best, to stand up for what is right, and be kind and respectful to all.

We are able to take what we have learned as the Jimmie way of life and use it on our life’s journey beyond this campus.

We are family here at the University of Jamestown.
We are Jimmies. I for one am thankful that I was able to take my educational journey as a Jimmie, and be a part of the Jimmie tradition.

Once a Jimmie, always a Jimmie!
