2016 University of Jamestown Commencement

University of Jamestown presented degrees to graduating seniors during the school’s 110th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 7th at the Jamestown Civic Center at 2:30 p.m. Baccalaureate was be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Civic Center.

Dr. Irene Paasch spoke at the baccalaureate service. Dr. Paasch has a master’s degree from Columbia University, and a doctorate from University of Kansas. She is retiring this year as the Chair of the Department of Communication.

Scott Bintz, founder of RealTruck.com, delivered the Commencement address. Mr. Bintz holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Minot State, and is passionate about the guiding principles created and put to use at RealTruck. From the basement of a duplex to a multi-million dollar e-commerce company on a mission to make people’s lives & vehicles better.

Receiving emeritus status:
Sue Anderson, Professor Emerita;
Dr. Gary Watts, Dean Emeritus;

One hundred fifty-six students received their bachelor’s degree along with three students receiving their master’s degree. In addition, thirty-five students made up the first graduating class from the University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
