Plainsong is the art and literary journal of University of Jamestown and is published by the Department of English. The editorial board for Plainsong is made up of the faculty of the English Department. The editor is Larry Woiwode (larrywoiwode.com), author of over a dozen books and the Poet Laureate of North Dakota. Woiwode teaches creative writing workshops in which students can receive, through the English Department, the only undergraduate creative-writing minor offered in the Upper Plains States. Many of the participants in the workshops are contributors to Plainsong.
