Dr. Zamzow Lynch has been teaching at the University of Jamestown since 2013. She earned a doctorate in conducting and a masters in horn performance from the University of Northern Colorado. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Luther College. Dr. L. was excited to move back to North Dakota. Her parents met in Grand Forks, ND in 1978! “I enjoy living in this community! The people are warm and friendly and I very much enjoy working with the students at the university.”
Dr. L. conducts the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and the Big Orange Pep Band. She also teaches a variety of music education courses. Prior to teaching in ND, she taught at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia.
In addition to her teaching duties she plays horn with the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra. She is the collegiate advisor to the state NDMEA board. Dr. L. also serves as the North Dakota representative to the national SMTE organization. She has presented at two national conferences through the CBDNA organization.
Her husband John is the Director of Student Activities and Orientation at the University. They enjoy walking their dog, Sadie.
