Choirs

If you have a passion for singing, consider joining one of University of Jamestown’s choirs. Each group is made up of music majors, music minors, and non-majors alike.

Concert Choir

The Concert Choir began as a glee club in the early 1900s. In the past century, it has grown into a 60-voice ensemble that practices five days a week, presents an elaborate Christmas Concert each December, takes a tour each Spring break, and sings for various other functions and events.

The choir has distinguished itself in performances throughout the United States and Canada, and in several tours throughout Europe. In May 2010, the choir embarked on its first tour of the People’s Republic of China, giving performances in Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Chapel Choir

Chapel Choir was originally founded as a women’s choral group that sang sacred music. While Chapel Choir is still an all-women’s choir, they sing a variety of styles of music. Chapel Choir rehearses two times a week, does not travel, and is less of a time commitment than Concert Choir.
