The University of Jamestown is seeking a part-time Machine Technology Instructor.

This staff position requires experience in machining, manufacturing, engineering drawings, material processes, and tool design. This person will instruct mechanical engineering students in machine processes. This individual will also be responsible for developing instructional activities in coordination with the materials professor, development and administration of safety protocols, assisting with student projects and club activities, maintaining the machine shop, assisting with tool and equipment acquisition, and other duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
Instructor for basic machine shop courses. Instruct students on many aspects of machining and understanding of machine shop safety.
Supervision of students on design and SAE projects
Instruction including hands on projects.
Ensure that courses are taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
Maintenance of machines and stock room

Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years documented experience in machine shop trades; drill presses, lathes, mills, grinders, and hydraulic presses;
Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a related industrial discipline;
Ability to work with a diverse student body;
Teaching or training experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience;
CNC knowledge and experience;
Experience with automotive repair;
Knowledge of relevant OSHA guidelines;
NIMS certifications in relevant areas.
