The University of Jamestown’s Institutional Advancement Department is now accepting applications for the positon of Director of Alumni Relations.

The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for planning and implementing programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening the areas of development, enrollment, and alumni relations. Additional responsibilities include directing all facets of the University’s annual Dine & Bid benefit and auction. This is a year-round, full-time position located in Jamestown, North Dakota.

The successful candidate will focus on building relationships with alumni and friends of UJ, and will be customer service-oriented. Bachelor’s degree required; experience in Alumni Relations, external affairs, or similar field.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Work closely with the Alumni Association Board of Directors, arranging its meetings, staffing its committees and ensuring strong and productive relationships between its members, the Alumni Chapter representatives and the University; serve as ex officio Executive Director of the Alumni Association. With the President of the Alumni Association, lead meetings of the Association.
Plan, implement, and promote alumni programs that support the University’s Strategic Plan in collaboration with colleagues within the Office of Advancement
Plan and coordinate all external events held by Institutional Advancement. Examples include, but are not limited to:

o Alumni socials locally, and nationally
o Homecoming and Alumni Days
o Dine & Bid
o Jimmie Scramble – in cooperation with Booster Club Director, who leads this event
o Alumni Hall of Fame banquet
o Senior Banquet
o Young Medallion celebration
o President’s Circle banquet, in cooperation with the Assistant to the President
Plan, implement, and promote the Class Agent / Fall Appeal of the Annual Progress Fund; Friends of the Fine Arts Appeal, as well as its program, for the University
Implement new opportunities that encourage alumni communication, participation, and engagement with the University
In collaboration with the Career Center, coordinate and host Networking Nights in North Dakota, as well as in the Minneapolis area
Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, and nationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web site, social networking sites, Alumni & Friends magazine, and other print publications
Collaborate closely with development colleagues to increase support from alumni; assist in identifying, qualifying, and soliciting alumni prospects for gifts; communicate development-related activities
Coordinate with the Webmaster to provide updated and relevant content for the Alumni & Friends pages of the Web site
Work with the Office Manager to ensure accurate and complete alumni records
Other duties as assigned
