Assistant Professor of Teacher Education

The Teacher Education Department at the University of Jamestown invites applications for one full time Assistant Professor position in elementary education to begin August 2019.


Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education, a current teaching or administrator license and at least 5 years of teaching in grades pk-8. A background in elementary curriculum and instruction and teaching elementary social studies, math, and science are required. Preference given to applicants who have experience with diverse student populations and early childhood. A.B.D. candidates and those with Master’s degrees may be considered.


Teaching on-campus undergraduate courses such as elementary methods and other professional core courses. In addition, faculty serve as student advisors, supervise student teachers, and are expected to participate in departmental and university initiatives and engage in scholar activities. Opportunities to teach in the on-line graduate program may be available.
