Assistant Professor of Piano and Collaborative Arts

The University of Jamestown invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Piano and Collaborative Arts beginning in August 2019. Applicants must be committed to liberal arts undergraduate education and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship/creative activity and service.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative artist and pianist, a highly effective teacher, and an enthusiastic recruiter who will continue to build the piano and accompanying program. Performing responsibilities include serving as the pianist for faculty performances, student recitals, and some ensemble and musical theater rehearsals/performances. The successful candidate will also teach piano majors and oversee the class piano/proficiency program. Additional teaching duties will be in music history and other related curricula such as keyboard literature, pedagogy, or other courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise.

An earned doctorate in Collaborative Piano, Piano Performance, or closely related field is preferred. Candidates with a master’s degree and significant experience as a collaborative artist will also be considered.
