  • Student Life Recognition Award Nomination

    To nominate an organization or a student for a Student Life Recognition award, please complete the following application and attach a letter of support outlining why the person/group deserves the award in which they are nominated.

    Only current students, faculty and staff at the University of Jamestown can nominate students or groups for Student Life Recognition Awards.

    Only recognized student organizations and current students can be nominated for Student Life Recognition Awards.

    Nominations are due no later than Friday, April 5th at noon.

    Award Descriptions

    First Year Excellence Award

    The First Year Excellence Award is given to a first year student(s) who have demonstrated a pattern of success in their transition to the University of Jamestown. Students must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and must have completed 15 credit hours.

    Most Active Organization Award

    This award honors a recognized student organization that demonstrates an outstanding presence on campus and in the community. This group has consistently held meetings and successful events throughout the year.

    Outstanding Advisor Award

    The Outstanding Advisor Award recognizes a student organization advisor that has shown support for the student organization’s mission and its members as well as provided enthusiasm and encouragement throughout the school year.

    Outstanding Community Project Award

    The Outstanding Community Project Award honors a student organization that has promoted student involvement and bettered the Jamestown community through service and civic engagement.

    Outstanding Fundraising Idea Award

    The award for Outstanding Fundraising Idea honors a recognized student organization that has created a successful fundraiser for its organization or an outside non-profit organization.

    Outstanding New Organization Award

    The Best New Organization Award honors a student organization that has been recognized during the current school year and demonstrates outstanding achievements that contribute significantly to the campus, local, or global community.

    Outstanding Organization Award

    The Outstanding Organization Award honors a recognized student organization that demonstrates outstanding achievements that contribute significantly to the campus, local or global community.

    Outstanding Program/Event Award

    The Outstanding Program/Event Award goes to a student organization that created a program or event that promoted student involvement, bettered the campus community, and was delivered with goodwill and enthusiasm.

    Outstanding Student Leader Award

    This award recognizes an outstanding student leader at the University of Jamestown who has demonstrated a pattern of success in all aspects of their college experience.

    Pay It Forward Award

    This award honors a student who consistently inspires others to do good deeds and serves as a role model to other students in their behavior, service to others, and their ability to exemplify what it means to be a Jimmie.

    Spirit of the Journey Award

    This award honors graduating seniors who embody the ideals of the University of Jamestown’s Journey to Success. These students demonstrate an exemplary level of achievement associated with the goals of the Journey to Success. The Spirit of the Journey Award is one of the most prestigious awards that a student can receive from the Office of Student Life. The recipients of this award must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be graduating in the Spring of the given academic year.

    NEW! Unsung Hero Award

    This award honors a student who is best known for their work behind the scenes within their organization and supports the effort of their group without the need for external recognition.
