Basic Troubleshooting

Before submitting a trouble ticket or coming to the Helpdesk please try the following troubleshooting techniques:

  • Restart your computer
  • Make sure all power cables, video cables, and USB cables are firmly plugged into the computer.
  • Be able to tell us what application you are using, what you were doing, and exactly what happened.
  • Document any error message you receive and do an internet search for the message.
  • Review our FAQ section or ask a friend.

If you are still unable to solve the problem, fill out a Helpdesk Trouble Ticket or stop by the Helpdesk (Sorkness 105) during business hours.
