DPT Direct Entry

University of Jamestown provides an opportunity for direct entry for incoming freshmen, UJ freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors who plan to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The most common majors for direct entry students are biology, biochemistry, chemistry, exercise science, or nursing; however, other majors will be considered.


DIRECT ENTRY CRITERIA

  • Acceptance to the University of Jamestown
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of all prerequisites of a 3.00 on 4.00 scale
  • An overall minimum cumulative GPA of all coursework of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Fill out the Application for Direct Entry
  • Submit Official transcript(s) to one of the addresses below.

  • Complete Essential Function Requirements
  • Complete a FERPA form (If you want others to have access to your student records and requires a UJ account to complete)
  • Two letters of recommendation from a non-family member (Form)
    • Recommendations can be sent directly from the reference to: University of Jamestown, 4190 26th Ave S, Fargo ND 58104 or emailed to Deena.caillier@uj.edu
  • An interview will be conducted by a University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy Program admissions representative after all four documents (Application for Direct Entry, Essential Functions, and two letters of recommendation) as well as official transcripts are submitted.

The first deadline for completed applications to the Direct Entry program is December 1. Successful applicants will be notified by January 1

The second deadline for completed applications to the Direct Entry program is April 1. Successful applicants will be notified by May 1.
