Established in 1883 as Jamestown College, University of Jamestown is a private, liberal arts university granting bachelor of arts, science and science in nursing degrees, as well as master’s degrees in education, leadership, and clinical counseling, and a Fargo-based doctor of physical therapy degree.


University of Jamestown offers more than 30 areas of study. With the Journey to Success, emphasis is placed not only on preparing students academically in their chosen areas of study, but also on preparing students through an experience that is student-centered and integrates the liberal arts with sound professional programs. The Journey includes a guaranteed internship.


University of Jamestown is consistently ranked in the Top Tier by U.S. News & World Report in its annual “Best Colleges” ranking. University of Jamestown has also been named a Best Midwestern College by the Princeton Review.



Location

Jamestown, has a population of 16,000. We are located right along Interstate 94, halfway between North Dakota’s two largest cities (Fargo and Bismarck). Jamestown Regional Airport offers direct flights from Denver to Jamestown. Jamestown also is home to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center, a critical access hospital offering many services to the community including emergency and surgical services. Several eating, lodging, and entertainment options can be found in Jamestown. And, yes, we have a 26-foot-tall/60-ton (world’s largest) buffalo statue.



Campus

Our beautiful campus sits on 110 acres and is made up of 27 buildings which include 10 classroom buildings and six residence halls.



Enrollment

Our campus is made up of approximately 1000 students from 37 states and 17 countries.



Faculty

The majority of our faculty have earned their Ph.D. or highest degree in their field.



Average Class Size

Most classes have fewer than 30 students. The average class size is 19 students. At University of Jamestown, you’re not just a number! Your professors will get to know you, your interests, and your goals for the future.



Library Facilities

Raugust Library houses more than 150,000 items, from books and periodicals to government documents to audio-visual materials to microforms.

Financial Aid

University of Jamestown is affordable! Nearly 100 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid. The University awards $7.7 million in institutional aid alone each year. Our aid packages are based on individual need as well as on academic merit, leadership and special talents. We encourage you to apply for both University of Jamestown and federal aid.
