    The University of Jamestown is seeking an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering to begin in August of 2022. This position is a full-time teaching position. The selected individual will develop and teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the Department of Engineering. Potential course topics could include surveying, hydrologic engineering, geotechnical engineering, and wastewater treatment. Other duties include active participation in the expansion and development of the engineering program, student advising, and service to the university. Research activities are highly encouraged. Qualified candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates as well as knowledge of pedagogical theory in STEM fields.


    The position requires a minimum of a Master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, active registration as a PE, and prior experience in teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with or who are currently pursuing a Ph.D., have demonstrated excellence in teaching, have significant industry experience, and have additional relevant certifications (including LEED and OSHA).

    The University of Jamestown welcomes applications for a full-time faculty position as Assistant Professor of Communication Studies and Director of the UJ Speech and Debate Team beginning in August 2022.     The University of Jamestown seeks to hire a nurse educator to serve as an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Nursing to teach Mental Health and Medical Surgical Nursing.     The University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is hiring for a core faculty who will contribute to the mission of the University of Jamestown and the DPT program.


    Core Faculty Position Responsibilities:

    The position is a 12-month full time commitment with teaching and clinical practice in our pro bono clinic being the primary responsibilities. Teaching includes course development, primary instruction, team-teaching, and participation in curricular meetings. Specific teaching responsibilities will include foundational courses covering clinical assessment and exercise interventions with opportunities to assist in specialized courses. Clinical practice includes providing patient care and mentoring students at our outpatient pro bono clinic serving people who are uninsured or underinsured.


    As a full time faculty member, service and the development of an active scholarly research agenda will also be required. Service may include participation in admission activities, program committee work, accreditation work, and other activities assigned by the UJPT Program Director.

Staff Positions

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The University of Jamestown invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Strength, Conditioning and Campus Wellness. This is a full time, 10-month position with benefits, reporting to the Director of Strength, Conditioning and Campus Wellness.


    The Assistant Director will assist with all aspects of the strength and conditioning programs working with approximately 650 student-athletes competing in 21 intercollegiate programs, managing the Foss Wellness Center and the Scott D. Peterson Weight Room. The Assistant Director will also assist in facilitating campus wellness programs for students, staff and faculty.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Team Strength & Conditioning

    • Develop the physical strength, speed, conditioning, flexibility and agility of UJ student-athletes in a positive and motivating environment.
    • Design and facilitate customized training programs focused on the specific needs of each sport in conjunction with respective head coaches.
    • Create programs with injury prevention and rehabilitation focuses in conjunction with the athletic training staff.
    • Conduct proper testing protocols to monitor progress and maintain up-to-date records

    • Create a welcoming environment for non-athletes, staff and faculty.

    The opening is a 10 month-full-time position responsible for the development and oversight of the program. Responsibilities include program operation, recruiting, and practice/competition management. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Club and Intramural Programs.

    Graduate Assistant for our men’s wrestling program.

    UJ is a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and competes in the state-of-theart Harold Newman Arena. UJ also has a large wrestling room and weight room.

    A graduate assistant coaching position at the University of Jamestown offers the successful
    applicant a path towards a coaching career. The ideal candidate will have a strong
    wrestling background and the knowledge to assist the program with coaching, practice
    planning, recruiting, office work and all other phases of the men’s wrestling program. The
    successful applicant must acquire a valid CDL license by the beginning of the season and
    the candidate must be willing to drive for team travel.

    Jamestown Activities Board (JAB):

    • Co-advise the JAB student organization, including facilitating weekly meetings.
    • Assist in conducting individual meetings with event coordinators.
    • Attend JAB events and serve as a resource to JAB members.


    Intramurals:

    • Build and facilitate registration process for all intramural sports.
    • Assist with set up, implementation, and tear down of intramural activities.
    • Provide leadership to Work Study students during intramural activities.


    Student Senate:

    • Attend weekly Student Senate meetings.
    • Assist with Student Senate functions.


    Welcome Weekend:

    • Assist with the planning and training of Welcome Weekend Leaders.
    • Be a consistent presence throughout all Welcome Weekend activities.


    Student Engagement:

    • Maintain Lyngstad and Badal Nafus Student Center bulletin boards ensuring posters are appropriate and current.
    • Hold a minimum of 10 regularly scheduled office hours per week.
    • Contribute to the Student Affairs team and be available for departmental support as schedule allows.


    Qualifications:

    • Must be a full-time, degree-seeking student in the UJ Leadership graduate program.
    • Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the University of Jamestown.
    • Demonstrate ability to be self-motivated, self-reflective, and to conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner.
