    The potential exists for teaching courses both in person and online, depending on the course, and a high level of teaching quality is expected in both delivery methods. All adjunct faculty members must have a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline in which they are teaching to teach at the undergraduate level and an earned doctorate to teach at the graduate level.

Staff Positions

    University of Jamestown seeks a part-time Accounting Specialist to support the Business Office. Duties include facilitating and managing the University’s credit card portfolio; coordinating collection activity of student loans; receipt deposits; maintaining the cash flow ledger; and assisting with reports and special projects.


    Requirements: bachelor’s degree in accounting or business; five years of experience in accounting; computer literacy; good organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently; ability to work under pressure; ability to handle confidential matters with discretion; and excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data.

    The University of Jamestown is accepting applications for part time Counselors to support students in the UJ Counseling Center. The Center is constructed to provide short-term solution-focused counseling with services that are free and confidential for our students.


    Qualified applicants could support students by working on campus for one or two days per week, for varying numbers of hours, at varying times that fit the applicants schedule and most frequent available times for students. Online tele-counseling can also be considered to support online students or students residing in other communities.

    University of Jamestown seeks a full-time custodian to join our Physical Plant staff. Shift options include Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm or Monday through Friday, 1:00 – 10:00 pm.


    Duties May Include:

    • Cleaning areas as assigned to include common areas, laundry room, restrooms, etc. of the facilities.
    • Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spaces.
    • Setting up rooms for functions, activities and meetings as well as taking down for cleanup of area after activities.
    • Assisting maintenance staff with snow removal, grounds maintenance and tickets as needed.
    • Cleaning vacant apartments.
    • Trash removal.
    • Open, complete, and close out work orders.
    • Respond to trouble calls throughout campus and provide support for various campus events.
    • During the summer, work as a custodial team to complete a deep clean throughout the campus.
    • Floor cleaning/preparation, painting, and carpet cleaning as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Requirements Include:

    • Ability to communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform the essential functions of the job.
    • Successfully pass a criminal history background check prior to employment.
    • Must have a current valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
    • Capable of moving or relocating items up to 50lbs.
    • Ability to perform repetitive functions such as kneeling, reaching, bending, lifting, and pulling.
    • Willingness to work at heights.
    • Willing and able to work in inclement conditions such as rain, fog, ice, snow, wind, extreme ambient temperatures (hot or cold), and in confined spaces.


    Ability to Demonstrate:

    • Skill in building and maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction.
    • Ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgement.
    • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair.

    The University of Jamestown is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position with its campus ministries for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years. The successful candidate will report to the Chaplain and will assist with various administrative and spiritual formation aspects of the program. This is a 10-month assistantship with a start date of August 1st.


    Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a graduate program is required. The preferred candidate should have had active involvement in campus ministries. Additional requirements include strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and the capacity to model mature, responsible leadership. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays and travel as necessary. Applicants must submit to a criminal background check, subject to review and approval by The University of Jamestown.


    Compensation Information

    Full tuition, housing and the Block 150 Meal Plan (150 meals + 5 Jimmie Bucks per semester) are covered with this UJ Graduate Assistant position.

    University of Jamestown seeks a full-time maintenance technician to join our Physical Plant staff. Weekly schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.


    Duties May Include:

    • Service, Repair, Maintain, Monitor and Adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.
    • Maintains facility and equipment such as boilers, air handling units, roof top equipment, and appliances, etc.
    • Performs service work, general maintenance and custodial activities to include carpentry, painting, minor grounds keeping, facility repairs to building systems, electrical fixtures, small machines, and equipment.
    • Provides direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
    • Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service, repair and preventive maintenance work.
    • Maintain grounds to include: watering grass, flowers, and shrubs, transplanting/planting sod, flowers, shrubs, and trees, weeding flower and shrub beds, weeding, litter removal, and general equipment maintenance.
    • Removal of snow and ice including some on-call hours.
    • Open, complete, and close out work orders, enter time worked, and order materials.
    • Respond to trouble calls throughout campus and provide support for various campus events.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Requirements Include:
