All adjunct faculty members must have a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline in which they are teaching to teach at the undergraduate level and an earned doctorate to teach at the graduate level.

    The University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is hiring for a core faculty who will contribute to the mission of the University of Jamestown and the DPT program.


    Core Faculty Position Responsibilities:

    The position is a 12-month full time commitment with teaching being the primary responsibility which include course development, primary instruction, team-teaching, and participation in curricular meetings. In addition, service and the development of an active scholarly research agenda will be required. Service may include participation in admission activities, program committee work, accreditation work, and other activities assigned by the Program Chair. The program invites applicants with various clinical specialties including musculoskeletal, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and geriatrics to apply.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    • DPT degree
    • 3 or more years clinical experience as a physical therapist
    • Board-certified clinical specialist or academic doctorate degree (PhD, DSc, or EdD)
    • Current Physical Therapy (PT) license in North Dakota or eligible for PT license in North Dakota
    • Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
    • Service to the profession through APTA at state or national level (e.g. committee membership, elected position)
    • Teaching experience


    Preferred Qualifications in Addition to Minimum Qualifications:
    • Evidence of effective teaching
    • Research experience
    • Experience as a Clinical Instructor or Site Coordinator of Clinical Education
    • Completed Residency
    • Completed PT Fellowship

    The Department of Engineering at the University of Jamestown (UJ) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2020. Particular emphasis is in the broader area of fluid mechanics and heat transfer; however, candidates from all areas of Mechanical, Biological, and Chemical Engineering are encouraged to apply.     The Department of English at the University of Jamestown invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center beginning August 2020. This a permanent, full-time position. We are looking for someone with experience working across university departments and a background in either writing center or writing program administration.


    As our University Writing Center has been open for three years, we are searching for someone who can not only maintain it, but help it grow. The writing center serves a population of about 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff at the University of Jamestown through face-to-face, online, and email appointments. The ideal candidate would have experience with writing center or writing program administration, tutor training (or new teacher training), and WC Online. In addition, the candidate would have experience in developing marketing materials and writing- and teaching-related workshops for students and faculty.


    Responsibilities: Administering the writing center, including hiring and training tutors, forging interdepartmental partnerships, developing workshops for students and faculty on campus, and consulting with writers across campus. In addition, the candidate will teach a 3-3 load, including introductory and advanced composition courses, and an upper-division grammar course.


    Qualifications: Doctorate in Rhetoric and Composition and college-level teaching experience preferred. Administrative experience, with Writing Center experience preferred, including the ability to train tutors. Experience with Business and Technical Writing a real plus.     Requirements:

    This position is full-time, 40 hours per week and includes one evening per week (6:00 pm – 10:00 pm) during the school year. The successful applicant will hold the rank of assistant professor in a non-tenure track position.

Staff Positions

    University of Jamestown is accepting applications for an admissions counselor. This full-time position is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of new students to the University of Jamestown. Admissions Counselors facilitate student recruitment through a consistent and systematic effort of phone contact, texting, email, and social media communication as well as face-to-face conversations with prospective students and families based on an assigned territory.     The University of Jamestown (NAIA), located in Jamestown, N.D., is accepting applications for a Head Coach for its Men’s and Women’s Shooting Sports program. UJ elevated its club trapshooting program to a competitive shooting sports team in 2019.
