    The University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is hiring for a core faculty who will contribute to the mission of the University of Jamestown and the DPT program.

    Core Faculty Position Responsibilities:

    The position is a 12-month full time commitment with teaching being the primary responsibility which include course development, primary instruction, team-teaching, and participation in curricular meetings. In addition, service and the development of an active scholarly research agenda will be required. Service may include participation in admission activities, program committee work, accreditation work, and other activities assigned by the Program Chair. The program invites applicants with various clinical specialties including musculoskeletal, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and geriatrics to apply.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • DPT degree
    • 3 or more years clinical experience as a physical therapist
    • Board-certified clinical specialist or academic doctorate degree (PhD, DSc, or EdD)
    • Current Physical Therapy (PT) license in North Dakota or eligible for PT license in North Dakota
    • Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
    • Service to the profession through APTA at state or national level (e.g. committee membership, elected position)
    • Teaching experience

    Preferred Qualifications in Addition to Minimum Qualifications:
    • Evidence of effective teaching
    • Research experience
    • Experience as a Clinical Instructor or Site Coordinator of Clinical Education

    The University of Jamestown is seeking an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering to begin in August of 2020. This position is a full-time teaching position. Selected individual will develop and teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the Department of Engineering. Other duties include active participation in the expansion and development of the engineering program, student advising, and service to the university. Research activities and additional course development are highly encouraged. Qualified candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates as well as knowledge of pedagogical theory in STEM fields.

    The position requires a minimum of a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Preference will be given to candidates with or currently pursuing a Ph.D. as well as those who have demonstrated excellence in teaching.

        The Department of Engineering was started in 2016. It is currently offering a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and has recently graduated its first students.     The Teacher Education Department at University of Jamestown invites applications for an on-campus, full-time assistant/associate professor to begin in summer 2020. This is a twelve-month position.


    Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education, a current teaching or administrator license, and at least 3 years of teaching in grades 5-12. A background in secondary curriculum and instruction and education technology are required. Preference given to applicants who also have experience in dissertation/thesis supervision, teaching diverse school populations, or distance learning. A.B.D. candidates may be considered.

Staff Positions

    The University of Jamestown is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position with its campus ministries for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years. The successful candidate will report to the Chaplain and will assist with various administrative and spiritual formation aspects of the program. This is a 10-month assistantship with a start date of August 1st.

    Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a graduate program is required. The preferred candidate should have had active involvement in campus ministries. Additional requirements include strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and the capacity to model mature, responsible leadership. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays and travel as necessary.     University of Jamestown seeks an online student marketing, recruitment and retention specialist. This position is a key component to online student marketing, recruitment, enrollment and retention out of the University of Jamestown’s Online and Professional Studies programs.     The Physical Plant Director is a full-time professional staff member reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs. S/he has the primary responsibility for supervising physical plant operations including all buildings and grounds, utilities, energy management systems, and custodial operations in order to provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff.


    • Directs, supervises, and evaluates department staff; ensures staff receives training related to specific job tasks and responsibilities.
    • Directs, schedules, and oversees external contractors (electricians, plumbers, excavators, roofers, painters, landscapers, etc.).
    • Schedules and supervises maintenance workers engaged in building and grounds upkeep and repair; responsible for safety and security, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation services.
    • Develops and monitors department budget; orders equipment and supplies and monitors inventory; makes requests for capital outlay expenditures as needed.
    • Develops, implements, and supervises preventative maintenance and renovation programs for buildings, grounds, mechanical and electrical, utility, and safety and security systems.
    • Supervises custodial crew engaged in cleaning college buildings and premises.
    • Serves as administrator responsible for facility safety and meeting physical ADA compliance standards, works closely with staff and state officials to meet college, OSHA, and other related requirements.
    • Prepares specifications for physical plant projects; estimates costs of equipment, materials, labor, and supplies; prepares bid specifications for projects, equipment, and contracted services; oversees site and building projects performed by outside contractors.
    • Develops specifications for cost-effective campus energy management systems; supervises the operations, maintenance and repair of such systems.
    • Ensures the proper disposal of hazardous and controlled wastes in compliance with regulations and guidelines; works directly with outside agencies such as OSHA and local and state health departments as required.
    • Evaluates the need for and arranges physical plant training sessions (bloodborne pathogens, OSHA, and other job-related training) both in-house and off campus.
    • Oversees fleet vehicles maintenance and shipping/receiving activities.
    • Contributes to strategic planning by evaluating and projecting future facility needs and proposing options to achieve them.
    • Performs other related tasks as requested.


    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent training in engineering, facilities management, construction management, building trades, communications, or related field.
