    The University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) is expanding our faculty. We are now accepting applications for a new position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Physical Therapy. The University of Jamestown DPT Program is located in Fargo, North Dakota.       Minimum qualifications include:

    • An academic doctorate (i.e., PhD, EdD, ScD); candidates nearing degree completion will be considered
    • Active membership in the APTA
    • Experience as a successful academic or clinical educator
    • Current physical therapy license, and be eligible for licensure in North Dakota

    • Responsibilities include:

    • Teaching: teaching in the entry-level DPT program in area of expertise.
    • Scholarship: engage in scholarly, evidence-based research consistent with areas of expertise and interest; meet CAPTE requirements.
    • Service: participation in appropriate professional organizations, clinically related service, or volunteer work in the community.

    The Department of Communication welcomes applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Communication. Responsibilities will include teaching four courses per semester, collegial service, advising, and promotion of the major.     The Department of Engineering at the University of Jamestown (UJ) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2020. Particular emphasis is in the broader area of fluid mechanics and heat transfer; however, candidates from all areas of Mechanical, Biological, and Chemical Engineering are encouraged to apply.     The Department of English at the University of Jamestown invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center beginning August 2020. This a permanent, full-time position. We are looking for someone with experience working across university departments and a background in either writing center or writing program administration.


    As our University Writing Center has been open for three years, we are searching for someone who can not only maintain it, but help it grow. The writing center serves a population of about 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff at the University of Jamestown through face-to-face, online, and email appointments. The ideal candidate would have experience with writing center or writing program administration, tutor training (or new teacher training), and WC Online. In addition, the candidate would have experience in developing marketing materials and writing- and teaching-related workshops for students and faculty.


    Responsibilities: Administering the writing center, including hiring and training tutors, forging interdepartmental partnerships, developing workshops for students and faculty on campus, and consulting with writers across campus. In addition, the candidate will teach a 3-3 load, including introductory and advanced composition courses, and an upper-division grammar course.


    Qualifications: Doctorate in Rhetoric and Composition and college-level teaching experience preferred. Administrative experience, with Writing Center experience preferred, including the ability to train tutors. Experience with Business and Technical Writing a real plus.     The Teacher Education Department at University of Jamestown invites applications for an on-campus, full-time assistant/associate professor to begin in summer 2020. This is a twelve-month position.


    Requirements:

    Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education, a current teaching or administrator license, and at least 3 years of teaching in grades 5-12. A background in secondary curriculum and instruction and education technology are required. Preference given to applicants who also have experience in dissertation/thesis supervision, teaching diverse school populations, or distance learning. A.B.D. candidates may be considered.

    Position Summary

    The Department of Business, Accounting, and Economics at the University of Jamestown invites applications for an interim position in Accounting, beginning in January, 2020.     The staff of Raugust Library at the University of Jamestown invites applicants to apply for the position of Reference and Instruction Librarian.


    Main Responsibilities:
    • Reference services to the faculty and students, both for on-campus and online classes
    • Collection development and management of print and electronic reference resources, including database selection
    • Collaborate with faculty in integrating information literacy into the curriculum

      Bus Driving Duties Include:

    • Willingness to work weekends during the academic year and willing to spend multiple days overnight on the road with athletic teams and student groups.
    • Performs all out of town trip procedures (e.g. food, fuel, lodging, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring all out of town procedures are followed and completed.
    • Prepares reports (e.g. field trips reports, incident reports, inspections records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, routing information, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information, and/or complying with established guidelines
    • Reports observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate personnel for their action.
    • Performs pre-trip and post-trip cleaning and general upkeep and maintenance of bus fleet.

    The University of Jamestown seeks a full-time grounds maintenance technician to join our Physical Plant staff.

      Duties Include:

    • Turf maintenance and equipment maintenance tasks (i.e. mowing, edging and trimming).
    • Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required.
    • Athletic field maintenance to include: seeding, mowing, and striping of competition fields.
    • Maintain irrigation systems for proper water distribution to various landscapes including installation, maintenance and repair (e.g. repairs to valves, pipes, sprinkler heads).
    • Maintain grounds to include: watering grass, flowers, and shrubs, transplanting/planting sod, flowers, shrubs, and trees, weeding flower and shrub beds, weeding, litter removal, and general equipment maintenance.
    • Removal of snow and ice including some on-call hours. Areas include parking lots, sidewalks, handicap ramps, roadways. Application of ice melt in designated locations. Operation and maintenance of equipment associated with snow removal job duties.
    • Open, complete, and close out work orders, enter time worked, and order materials.
    • Respond to trouble calls throughout campus and provide support for various campus events.
    • Is required to participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations.
