The staff of University of Jamestown’s Student Media Center brought home two awards from the Associated Collegiate Press’s Best of the Midwest conference held recently in Minneapolis.

The Collegian newspaper won second place among four-year non-weekly newspapers. The Student Media Center’s website, took third place among all colleges and universities present. SMCNOW represents the work of the all four SMC departments: News, Television, Radio and Business. This is the first award for a website of the Student Media Center.

The contest included newspapers and websites from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Vermont and even the Philippines.

Congratulations to Editor in Chief Peter Odney, JCTV Station Manager Josh Grindheim, KJKR Station Manager James Rommelfanger, General Manager Tasha Benjamin, and all SMC staff!
