Students elect Student Senate Executive Board for 2014-15

Four University of Jamestown students have been elected to serve on the Student Senate Executive Board for the 2014-15 school year. They are Rachel Nyhus, Harvey, N.D., President; Tracy Ortman, Harvey, N.D., Vice President; Katie Carpenter, Moffit, N.D., Secretary; and Carley Ward, Hunter, N.D., Treasurer.

Nyhus, a junior, is pursuing a major in English education with a minor in Character in Leadership. She has been active in Choir, Jimmie Ambassadors, SNDU and intramural athletics. She is the daughter of Chuck and Shari Nyhus.

Ortman, a junior, is pursuing majors in mass communication and communication with a minor in Character in Leadership. She has been active in Choir, ROOTS, Lambda Pi Eta, Student Media Center, Ignition, Theatre, L2 staff and intramural athletics. She is the daughter of Don and Laurel Ortman.

Carpenter, a junior, is pursuing majors in history, political science, and Spahish. She has been active in theatre, Choir, International Student Organization, Alpha Mu Gamma, Alpha Chi, Student Senate and Jimmie Janes. She is the daughter of David and Vicki Carpenter.

Ward, a junior, is pursuing majors in communication and psychology with a minor in Character in Leadership. She has been active in Choir, Psi Chi, Lambda Pi Eta, and intramural athletics. She is the daughter of Brian and Peggy Ward.
