The program is designed to be experienced as a worship service as well as a concert, featuring choral music and hymns focused on the theme of light. The music is interwoven with narration from the Scriptures.

“There are some high-energy, joyful pieces, but the beginning and the end of the concert are purposefully meditative, contemplative, and prayerful,” McDermid says. “The pre-Christmas season is so frantic for many people. It is our hope that this Christmas worship service and concert is a time when the audience can slow down, breathe, and receive the message of hope in the lyrics and readings.”
